Augustine the Warrior

* Prešov, December 29, 1859 – † Prešov, December 16, 1922 / physician, university private teacher ; ; He began his school studies in his hometown, and obtained his medical degree from the University of Budapest in 1885. He became a university private teacher in the field of kidney diseases and general nutritional disorders. He later returned to his hometown, where he practiced until his death. In 1902, the Forestry Journal reported on an exceptionally huge juniper, more than 12 m high, that had been growing in his garden but had fallen, and in this regard, Ferenc Gabnay, the author of the article, states that he “obligatedly handed over two pieces of the juniper trunk to the Botanical Institute of the Royal Hungarian University of Science.”
