* Torna, 19 May 1714 – † Nyitra, 4 June 1747 / Piarist teacher, textbook writer; ; Brother of János Nepomuk Cörver. His pen name was Alexius a Sancta Maria Magdalena. He received his highest training in Rome. He entered the order in Privigyé, where his teacher was József Ince Desericzky. Between 1733 and 1747 he taught in Nyitra and Pest, and during this time he also visited Italy several times (Rome – 1738, Naples – 1741). He was able to explain his free-spirited educational principles to Queen Maria Theresa, but not with much success. In his land surveying manual Compendium ... he presents himself as a forerunner of the reformist ideas of Joseph II. At the end of his life he was a convict director in Nyitra.
