* Nyitra, July 25, 1818 – † Nyitra, February 11, 1892 / county chief physician, corresponding member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (1858) ; ; His father, Antal Nemes Nagy, was the city judge of Nyitra. After the male members of the family on his mother's side died out, he took the name Chrenóczy. He graduated from the Nyitra gymnasium and then studied philosophy at Vácott. He completed his medical studies in Pest and Vienna. He was ordained a doctor in 1840. In 1842, he was appointed honorary chief physician of Nyitra County. Due to his actions, the medical treatment of the poor patients of the county was covered from the national fund. In 1848, he was elected actual chief physician. In 1884, he fell ill (suffered a stroke) and retired permanently in 1890. In addition to his medical practice, especially in his younger years, he was a great practitioner of natural sciences and a pioneer of Hungarian scientific literature. As an adult, he learned French and Spanish. Occasionally he wrote odes in Latin. He played a significant role in the development of scientific medical language and the dissemination of scientific knowledge.
