* Chizne, February 3, 1840 – † Budapest, February 21, 1928 / historian, geographical writer, director general ; ; He completed his secondary school studies in Banská Bystrica and Ungvár. He studied linguistics and history at the University of Vienna from 1858 to 1861. In 1864, he took the teaching exam in history and geography at the University of Budapest, and in 1868, his doctoral thesis. In 1870, he was qualified as a private teacher of world history at the University of Budapest. From 1894, he was the director of the Barcsay Street Gymnasium in Budapest, and from 1908, its director general. He retired in 1911. In 1906, the ruler granted Cherven Flóris a noble title with the first name Chiznei. He was primarily concerned with history, but also translated or revised geography textbooks. In 1872, he was one of the founders and until 1875, secretary of the Hungarian Geographical Society.
