* Komárom, July 27, 1878 – † ? after 1928 / meteorologist ; ; In 1900 he obtained a degree in mechanical engineering from the József Nádor Technical University in Budapest. From 1900 to 1903 he was an assistant professor at the university. On June 1, 1903 he entered the service of the Royal Hungarian National Institute of Meteorology and Geomagnetism and conducted geomagnetic measurements as an assistant professor at the Central Observatory in Ógyallá. Later he joined the Aerology Department of the Central Institute in Budapest. Here he began to deal with high-altitude wind measurements. Büky designed a drawing and evaluation device for the rapid processing of high-altitude wind measurements, which was still in use in the 1950s (!) during domestic aerological measurements. He created a high-altitude wind observation device. In 1915, during the First World War During the 1920s, he was assigned to the so-called Dragon Service near Bozen for military service and, within this framework, he carried out high-altitude wind observations (for artillery, airplanes and balloons).
