* Prešov, 19 November 1819 – † Budapest, 1896 / mining engineer, geologist ; ; He began his school studies in his hometown. In 1839–1843 he was a student at the Selmecsbánya Academy, then studied geology in Vienna. Between 1846 and 1853 he was an assistant professor at the Selmecsbánya Academy in the Department of Mining and Mining Engineering under János Adriany. During the Hungarian War of Independence of 1848/49 (in the spring of 1849) he organized the evacuation of the precious metal stock of the Körmöcsbánya Mint to Pest to escape the tsarist troops. Between 1853 and 1858 he worked as a mining engineer in the Wieliczka Salt Mine in Poland. From 1858 to 1867 he worked at various mining authorities (e.g. Szomolnok, Nagybánya, Kassa), and in 1867–1868 he held a leading position as a mining councilor at Gölnicbánya. His articles and papers were published in the Geological Gazette, the Mining and Metallurgical Journals and other journals.
