* Óbeštőrce, March 13, 1842 – † Trenčín, November 18, 1915 / physician, zoologist, botanist ; ; He attended high school in Žilina and Teschen, then studied at the ecclesiastical high schools in Bratislava and Sopron, where he graduated in 1862. He completed his university studies in Vienna, Prague, and Graz, where he received his doctorate in 1872. In 1873, he was a district physician in Beckón, in 1875 in Trenčín, and from 1878, he was the chief physician of the county, and the director of the county hospital. He was the founding president of the Trenčín County Natural History Association. He also established a museum in Trenčín, which had its own journal, in which he published most of his botanical, entomological, and other biological articles. He was also a talented draftsman and painter, and he made illustrations for many of his articles himself. He was mostly interested in insects and molluscs, but he was also interested in history, botany, meteorology, music, numismatics and archaeology. He processed and described the Mollusca (mollusks) material from New Guinea collected by Sámuel Fenichel. He was also well acquainted with the fauna of Dalmatia and Bosnia. Part of his snail and shell collection ended up in the Szeged Museum with the help of Kálmán Czógler, who was a museum employee between 1917 and 1950.
