* Perbete, October 13, 1950 / biochemist, virologist, university lecturer ; ; He began his schooling in his native village. He graduated from the Hungarian Gymnasium of Érsekújvár (today: Pázmány Péter Gymnasium) in 1969. From 1969 to 1974, he studied chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry of Charles University in Prague, and then obtained his doctorate in biochemistry in the same year. In 1974, he became a member of the Institute of Organic and Biochemistry of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences and began working on peptide chemistry. In 1982, he became a candidate of chemical sciences (PhD.). In 1983, he settled in Bratislava, where he became a member of the Institute of Virus Research of the Slovak Academy of Sciences and worked there until 1992. In the meantime, he worked in the Department of Chemistry at Baylor University in Waco, Texas (USA) in 1988/89. In 1992–1997, he was again in Texas, at the Southwestern Medical Center at the University of Dallas, and then from 1998 to 2004, he was a researcher at the Baylor Institute for Immunology Research in Dallas. In 2004–2006, he was a researcher at the University of Texas at Arlington, and in 2006–2008, he was a researcher at Austin College in Sherman, Texas. Between 2008 and 2011, he was a lecturer at the Health Science Center at the University of Texas at Fort Worth, and is currently a professor at El Centro College in Dallas, Texas. At the beginning of his career, he was involved in the investigation of the properties and mechanism of action of plant-derived enzymes (lactate dehydrogenase). During his years in Bratislava, his interests were focused on virus research, immunology, and HIV viruses. He has been active in the field of immunology in the USA. Recently, he has been working primarily as a university lecturer. He has participated and given lectures at numerous international scientific conferences. He has published more than 30 scientific articles and studies so far, and is a co-author of two monographs. He is a member of several Slovak and American scientific societies (American Cancer Society, American Chemical Society, Slovak Chemical Society, International Union of Biochemical Societies, etc.).
