* Bratislava, 1880 – † Budapest, March 27, 1960 / geodesist, military engineer ; ; In 1903 he worked at the surveying inspectorate in Oradea, in 1907 at the Győr, and in 1909 at the Budapest surveying office. In 1913 he joined the triangulation office. After the outbreak of World War I, as an engineer-lieutenant of the Austro-Hungarian Military Geographical Institute, the entire high-order triangulation network of Montenegro, Southern Bosnia, and Northern Albania was developed under his leadership: After the signing of the Treaty of Trianon, he led the geodetic work of demarcating the new Hungarian-Romanian state border. In 1934 he became the head of the Debrecen surveying inspectorate, and in 1937 the head of the triangulation office. He made his name memorable by introducing the most modern Swiss (Wild) instruments and embracing machine calculation.
