In 1707 he became a student at the University of Wittenberg, where he studied geography, history, philosophy and theology. In 1710 he became a teacher in Selmecbánya, then deputy rector of the gymnasium there, and from 1711 its rector. After the plague epidemic that was raging at the time passed, he moved to Késmárk, where he became rector of the gymnasium and the town's priest. He wrote the history of Szepes County, which Mátyás Bél included in his Prodromus. He frequently exchanged letters with the author of the Notitia and was also in close contact with Mátyás Bél's closest collaborator, György Buchholtz Jr. The history of the town of Késmárk remained in manuscript, which was used by the Jesuit priest Karl Wagner in his book Analecta scepusii, published in Vienna in 1773. He was also interested in the topography and wildlife of the Tatra Mountains, and he often took longer hikes with his students around Késmárk, and he himself explored several caves where he found the remains of a cave bear.
