* Bratislava, June 3, 1822 – † Bratislava, January 12, 1874 / physician, secondary school teacher, spider researcher ; ; He was the son of János Böckh, a medical doctor who was born in Modor but practiced in Bratislava. He completed his school studies in his hometown, while studying for a year at the Tata Gymnasium in order to learn the Hungarian language. He obtained his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Vienna in 1846 and became the honorary chief physician of Bratislava County in the same year. In 1849 he was appointed a forensic physician and held this position until 1864. But already in November 1861 he was appointed a teacher of natural history and science at the Bratislava High School. In addition, he lectured on forensic medicine at the Law Academy. In addition to his work as a doctor and teacher, he studied the life of spiders and gained international fame in this field. In 1873, he was very popular with his spider collection at the Vienna World Exhibition. He also published a paper on plant geography in the yearbook of the Higher School of Realism.
