* Tótmegyer, 1839 – † Budapest, January 16, 1935 / physician, chief physician of Bars County, photographer ; ; Son of Dániel Benkő. Between 1857 and 1861 he was a medical student at the University of Vienna and then at the University of Pest. He began his career as an assistant to Professor of Surgery Endre Kovács Sebestyén (Garamvezekény) at the Rókus Hospital in Pest. In 1863 he was appointed chief physician of Bars County (he held this position for 56 years) and settled in Aranyosmarót. He did a lot for the development of the city hospital and in a new part of the building, which was built according to the plans of Ferenc Kolbenheyer, he established an infectious diseases department at his own expense. In addition to his work, he also took photographs. ; He immortalized people, buildings and nature. In 1983, during the disinfection of the Evangelical parsonage in Aranyosmarót, more than 300 negative photographic glass plates were found in the attic, which were most likely made by him, as he lived in this building at the time. This is one of the largest collections of photographs in the Highlands from the 19th century. In 1893, he received the title of royal councilor for 30 years of service in the field of healing.
