* Trenčín v. m. ? 1765 – † Bratislava, October 26, 1809 / doctor of philosophy, academic teacher, printing house owner ; ; He completed his studies at the Buda High School, and philosophy, law and political science at the university there. After receiving his doctorate, in 1788 he was appointed professor of philosophy at the Academy of Pécs. On November 26, 1792, he became a professor of history at the Academy of Bratislava and worked in this capacity until his death. Since he married the daughter of János Schauff, a history teacher and printing house owner, upon the death of his father-in-law (1801), the printing house also came into his possession, and he reprinted numerous works there. He wrote several legal, historical and geographical works in Latin and German. During the French Revolution, in his political pamphlet (Reflexiones...), published anonymously in 1790, he attacked the nobility on behalf of the common people, pointed out the despondency of the people, and, referring to the example of France, threatened the ruling classes with revolution. His work Historia literarum bonarumque artium in Hungaria… (Bazsony, 1799) is a history of Hungarian literature in Latin, based on the book by Pál Wallaszky, using the works of Mihály Árvai, Elek Horányi, and others. He took it from them and summarized the cultural history and bibliographic data up to the end of the 17th century. Its second edition (Bazsony, 1811) already covers the literature of the 18th century.
