* Besztercebánya, December 24, 1840 – † Budapest, April 25, 1898 / forest engineer, inventor, forest advisor ; ; He completed his secondary school studies in his hometown. He obtained a forest engineer diploma from the Mining and Forestry Academy in Selmecbánya and began his practical work in the city. In the following years, he was chief forester in Vuková and then in the crown estate of Diósgyőr. During this time, he constructed a new structure of telemetry equipment (Belházy telemetry), which enabled more accurate measurements even in closed (forested, mountainous) terrain. In 1880, he became an employee of the Ministry of Agriculture, in 1884 he was appointed chief forest advisor and in this capacity he played a significant role in the country's forest management. In 1886, the National Forestry Association commissioned him to write a manual entitled Forest Management. The first volume of this (Forest Management) was published in 1895, the second volume was not completed due to his death. ; ;  ,
