* Prešov, 1630 – † Székesfehérvár (?), 1674 / Lutheran theologian, college professor, philosopher ; ; As a child of poor parents, he was educated by the Prešov city council. In 1653, he obtained a master's degree and then an extraordinary teacher's degree in Wittenberg. For three years, he became acquainted with the ideas of the famous atomist philosophers Daniel Sennert (1572–1637) and Francis Bacon (1561–1626), as well as Jan Amos Comenius (1592–1670). In 1662, he returned to Prešov, where he became rector of the lyceum. However, he had disagreements with his superiors and colleagues, so in 1667 he took up pastoral service in Banská Bystrica. In 1671, he moved to Székesfehérvár. He undertook the defense of Protestant priests sentenced to galley slavery, and there are even opinions that he himself was condemned.
