Joseph Baranyay

* Kamocsa, September 6, 1876 – † Komárom, January 20, 1952 / editor, local historian ; ; He completed his high school studies in Komárom and Pápa (according to other sources in Keszthely and Debrecen), and earned a law degree in Budapest. He then became a newspaper editor in Dunaszerdahely, then moved to Komárom, where he edited various newspapers and periodicals (calendars, calendars) and worked as a librarian. In addition to his works of fiction and collections of short stories, he wrote numerous books on local and cultural history about the old Csallóköz, the gold panning in Csallóköz, the relationship between Komárom and the Hungarian kings, the Hungarian theater in Komárom, printing and the press, the occurrence of Komárom in Hungarian folk songs, etc. Two selections of his writings were made after the change of regime (Adventures in Komárom County, 1998, Major Works, 2002).
