George Bandy

* Rimaszombat, September 6, 1950 – / Evangelical pastor, theologian, university professor ; ; He began his school studies in his hometown, continued at the Faculty of Theology of the Comenius University in Bratislava in 1974 and obtained a theological degree at the University of Leipzig. He was an Evangelical pastor in Bakabánya, Gúta, and currently lives in Somorja. In 2003–2007, he was the dean of the Evangelical Faculty of Theology of the Comenius University and the head of the Old Testament Department. He is also the head of the department at the Reformed Faculty of Theology of the Selye János University in Komárom. His field of research is Old Testament theology. Under his leadership, the ecumenical Slovak translation of the Old Testament was completed. His scientific papers are published in Slovak, Hungarian and other foreign journals. He is the author of several university textbooks and notes.
