* Košice, 17 May 1887 – † Budapest, 17 March 1958. teacher, historian, ; archaeologist ; ; entered the Benedictine order in 1903. In 1910 he earned a doctorate in humanities from the University of Budapest and was ordained a priest in the same year. In 1910–1911 he was a high school teacher in Győr, in 1911–1915 he was a college teacher in Pannonhalma, and between 1915–1930 he was a high school teacher and librarian in Esztergom. In 1928–1929 he was on a study trip to Rome, from 1930 in Pápa, from 1933 to 1942 in Esztergom he was the head of the house and the director of the order's gymnasium, and from 1942 he was the director of the Museum of the Archaeological and Historical Society of the Esztergom Region. From 1942 he was the director general of the Catholic Secondary School Authority, and from 1948 he was a retired pastor at the Roman Baths parish in Budapest. His work mainly focused on Hungarian history, local history and early Christian archaeology.
