Upon returning home, he settled in Bratislava, where he engaged in rational viticulture. In the meantime, he also engaged in literary activity. In his works, he primarily dealt with plants, natural conditions, history, and wrote about farming, fruit and grape growing. He supplemented the work written by István Lumnitzer (Bratislava) on the flora of Bratislava. He married for the first time in 1814, and through his wife, Albrecht Karolina, he entered the social life of Bratislava and also acquired a vineyard. In 1823, he married again, marrying the daughter of a soap maker in Bratislava, Zsuzsanna Katalin Stockl.
