* Bán, October 18, 1883 – † Bán, September 25, 1974 / pharmacist, chemist, flora researcher ; ; He graduated from high school in Trenčín in 1902. He studied pharmacy, analytical chemistry and geology at the Budapest University of Science and Technology, received a pharmacy diploma in 1907 and a doctorate in 1908. In 1907, he was an assistant to Lajos Winkler (1863–1939) at the First Institute of Chemistry of the University of Budapest. Between 1908 and 1914, he was the head of a pharmacy in Trenčín. During World War I, he served as the commander of various military pharmacies (Trenčín, Sopron, Trencsénteplic). Between 1919 and 1950, he was the owner of the Salvator pharmacy in Bán, and then its head until his retirement. As a researcher, he primarily worked in analytical chemistry, but he also published papers on geology, botany, and monument protection. It is to his credit that in 1919 the establishment of a medical faculty was approved at the newly founded University of Bratislava.
