* Bratislava, 14 Nov. 1910– † Budapest, 1 Jan. 1990. / linguist ; ; He completed his high school and university studies in Hungarian-Latin in his hometown, then taught in Érsekújvár until the end of 1944. In 1947 he was transferred to Mo., where he was a member of the Institute of Linguistics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences from 1953. He worked in the department of the large dictionary at the institute and also participated in the work on the Hungarian interpretative hand dictionary. In his numerous studies published in Magyar Nyelv and Magyar Nyelvőr, he mainly dealt with word history issues and the Latin sources of Hungarian codex texts.
