* July 26, 1935. Perse † November 7, 1980. Guszona / painter ; ; He learned the profession of locksmith and foundry master at the Fülek factory (1953). The Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava, painting (1955-1962), his masters: L. Čemicky, J. Želibský, V. Hložník, P. Matejka. International artist colony, Hajdúböszörmény (1974). Miklós Káplár Award, Hajdúböszörmény (1975). ; At the beginning of his work he was influenced by Gyula Szabó, and later by the great post-impressionists (Paul Cézanne, Maurice Vlaminck, André Derain). His own world developed in the early 70s. ; From 1965 until his death, he lived in various villages in his native land: Persé, Deresk (1956 – 1965), Egyházasbást (1965 – 1971), Guszona (after 1971), always following his mother and brother. He set up his studio in his parental home, a characteristic long farmhouse, and created most of his paintings, primarily watercolors and graphics, there. ; He was loyal to his homeland, the world of the hills and valleys of Gömör-Nógrád and its people. Since the 70s, the landscape of Guszona has been his inspiration. Here he painted the first Gömör undulations. The landscape is closed by a high horizon of hills. In his pictures, the curved surfaces intertwine with each other with a sense of the primordial power of the earth. In the last years of his work, he dissolved the constraints of the relief of space and landscape, as if a great, all-pervading current were whipping the landscape, with sweeping dynamism and stormy force. He paid more and more attention to the vibrations and changes of the atmosphere. Although he painted many oil paintings, drew, and also dealt with graphics, his most outstanding works are his watercolors. ; ; Literature: ; - Tőzsér A., Koncsol L., Keszeli F., Sóoky L.: Búcsú Bacskai Bélától, Irodalmi Szemle 1980/10 ; - Kubičková K.: Bacskai Béla (monograph, 1983) ; ; ; &nbsp,
