The altar and altarpiece of the St. Ladislaus Church in Ógyalla

Other - other

Adrianna Réckyné Bögi photographed the St. Ladislaus Church in 2006, one day before the Lord's Day procession. The author, whose monograph on Ógyalla was the first to be published, had previously focused on Art Nouveau architecture, including the St. Ladislaus Church. ; The altarpiece was renewed in František Šmigrovský's workshop in 2018, and the altar was restored in 2019-2020. ; "The painting of Saint Ladislaus on the main altar of the Ógyalla church was moved from the previous Baroque church to the Art Nouveau building built in 1912-13. On the painting, near the rocks, there is an inscription: Festé Gál 1837, which makes its age clear. It is a canvas painting in a gilded wooden frame, measuring 2.5x2.5m. When the Monument Protection Office assessed its condition in 1993, it was determined that the painting was cracked due to aging and the humidity of the air and that the secondary varnish had also been damaged."
