* Tótraszlavica 12 October 1891 – † Izrael, 18 August 1982 / physician, publicist, local historian ; ; He graduated from high school in Prešov, studied medicine in Budapest, Berlin and in 1914 at the Sorbonne University in Paris. He received his doctorate in 1916. He fought on the Italian front during World War I. In 1918–1920, he worked at the Roth Clinic in Budapest, then at the Szent Margit Hospital, from 1920 he was a spa doctor in Bártfa, and from 1926, chief physician. He introduced several innovations and previously unused methods (carbonic acid bath, X-ray laboratory). As a physician, he was primarily concerned with the use of balneology in the treatment of tuberculosis. He went on several study trips to Western Europe to the most famous spas in order to utilize the experiences he gained there in Bártfa. On his initiative, in 1930, a summer swimming pool was built in the middle of the nearby forest based on the plans of Alfréd Hajós, for which he contributed 100 thousand Czechoslovak crowns. Between 1940 and 1944, he went underground due to his origin, and his 84-year-old father and several relatives were deported to a concentration camp, where they perished. At the end of the war, he was also sent to a concentration camp, but survived the ordeal. After returning home, he worked again in Bártfa from 1945 until his retirement. He then settled in Israel with his family. The spa town of Ein Gedi was built on the shores of the Dead Sea based on his plans. In addition to his healing work, he regularly published articles in medical journals and wrote the history of the town and spa of Bártfa. ; ; His main works: História Bardejova a Bardejovských kúpeľov, 1932.
