* Losonc, 1941. Nov. 30. / writer, journalist, translator ; ; He completed his elementary school education in his hometown, then worked as an auxiliary worker for years, graduating from the Fülek high school in 1967. From 1967 to 1972 he was a financial lecturer at the Losonc town hall. He was dismissed from his job during the purges following 1968, and worked for a while at the Fülek enamel factory and then at the Losonc public health station. After 1989 he edited the Losonc district weekly, Ipolyt, in 1990 he became the founder and editor-in-chief of the Nógrádi Szó. landscape magazine, and from 1992 he has been a freelance journalist and writer. ; – His first short story was published in Hét in 1962, and he has been publishing continuously since then. He has won several literary awards. His social and artistic recognitions include the SZMÍT award for his novel Kalandor születik (1998), the Losonc City Award (1998), the Losonc City Mayor's Award (2001). He is mostly at home in the short story and longer narrative genres, but he has also written radio plays, film scripts, literary reports, ethnic studies, literary parodies, etc. He follows the traditions of the realistic, anecdotally edited Hungarian short story, somewhat colored by the influence of Móricz and Kosztolányi. In most of his stories, small-town characters, people with unusual fates, mentally damaged, offended in their self-esteem, and shaken in their self-awareness, come to life. He depicts the life situations, aspirations, and pitfalls of the common man of our time and the recent past in a somewhat dull style, often with means tending towards naturalism, with considerable power to create situations and moods, but with moderate psychological credibility. He occasionally enlivens the depressed, tragic moods of his short stories with the colors of humor. His literary parodies were also born in the spirit of humor, in which he mocks the manners of his contemporaries in the form of fictitious interviews. He is a translator of contemporary Slovak prose. ; ; Works: The Relative Servant, elb., Po. 1970, My Mother's Courtiers, elb., Po. 1989, Death by Foam, erotic elb., Po. 1991, Piszokul felhergelve, elb., Po. 1992, In Front of a Crooked Mirror, literary parodies, Po. 1995, An Adventurer is Born, dir., Losonc 1997, Without Love, comp., 1999, The Seventh, comp., Dsz. 2000, The Hanged Man's Rope, comp., Losonc 2001, Hedvig is Crying, audio, Losonc 2002, The Vulture, comp., 2002, Mother's Suitors, comp., Losonc 2001. ; ; Translations: Dušan Mitana: The End of the Game, comp. 1986, Oľga Feldeková: Squirrel, comp., 1987, Peter Andruška: Fine People, comp., Po. 1988. ; ; Literature: Egri Viktor: The Relative Servant, Week 1971/51, Olasz Sándor: And Yet Something Happens..., Tiszatáj 1971/10, Mezei László Miklós: A.
