He went to school in Szepesség, and from 1904 to 1916 he was a student at the Késmárk Evangelical Gymnasium. He graduated with honors in 1916. His eyes were seriously damaged in World War I. In 1923 he obtained a teaching certificate in mathematics and physics at the University of Budapest. From September 1923 to October 1946 he taught at the Evangelical Girls' Gymnasium in Nyíregyháza. He requested retirement due to the severe deterioration of his eyesight. He regularly set tasks in the Secondary School Mathematics Journals, A Matematika Tanításáb, but also published in Tanügyi Szemle, Vakok Világ, and Nyírvidék. By 1946, he had lost his eyesight, but continued to be active in public life. In 1950, he became a member of the National Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired. He learned and later taught Braille himself. He also wrote a mathematics textbook for the blind. In 1961, he was awarded the Braille Memorial Medal. In 1954, he received the Beke Manó Prize. The Ambrózy Géza Secondary School Mathematics Competition in Szabolcs County, which has been held every year since 1987, bears his name.
