* Beckó, March 27, 1827 – † Bratislava, May 15, 1890 / physician, director of the Bratislava midwifery training institute ; ; He obtained his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Pest in 1852. He practiced in Kisújszállás between 1854 and 1870. In August 1872 he was appointed director of the Bratislava midwifery training institute. He held this position until his death. He frequently published in the Orvosi Hetilap, Gyógyászat, Jogtudományi Közlöny, Orvosok Munkálatai and elsewhere. ; ; His main works: ; Guidelines for the organization of midwifery institutes to be established on the territory of the Hungarian state, 1871, ; Midwifery textbook for midwives (also in Slovak), 1874, ; Obstetrics record, 1880, ; Deficiencies of the Bratislava National Public Hospital and the Midwifery Training School, 1880, ; Memorial for the benefit of helpless children and mothers, 1886.
