* Bratislava, 13 Apr. 1928 – † Nagymegyer, 29 August 2013 / folk music collector, conductor, specialist writer ; ; He graduated from high school in his hometown and earned a degree in humanities from the Komenský University in Poznań. From 1953, he was a member and leader of various Slovak Hungarian folk art ensembles (Népes, Ifjú Szívek), later a folk music specialist of the Csemadok (1967), secretary of the Czechoslovak Hungarian Ethnographic Society (1969), and then until his retirement, a specialist referent at the Dunaszerdahely Municipal Cultural Center. ; Honorary President of the Slovak Hungarian Ethnographic Society (1989), Head of the Society's Folk Music Working Group (1993), Foreign Honorary Member of the Hungarian Ethnographic Society, Owner of the Kodály Memorial Medal. In recognition of his folk music research activities and role in the choral movement, the Ministry of National Heritage of the Republic of Hungary awarded him the Életfa Award (1995), and the Sándor Márai Foundation in Bratislava awarded him the Open Europe Award (1997). He also received the Posonium Literary Award (2001). ; – The most successful Hungarian folk music collector in Slovakia (he collected and partially processed more than 16,000 melodies!). His groundbreaking work Édesanyám rózsafája (Po. 1974) is of great importance. his collection of folk songs and his Slovak Hungarian ballads Vétéssek ki szóló szívem(Po. 1979). He publishes in Hungarian and Slovak professional journals and study volumes. His popularization writings have appeared in Hétben, Új Szób, Nőben. He has given popularization lectures on the Hungarian broadcast of the Slovak radio for several years.
