* ? 1799 – † Miskolc, March 31, 1871 / mining engineer ; ; From 1834 to 1841 he headed the mathematics department of the Academy as an assistant professor. From 1847 to 1851 he was a professor of mining and mining geology. After that, as chief mining advisor, he was the head of the Szomolnok Treasury Mining Office, and during this time he did fundamental work in the start of coal mining in Borsod. The pump he designed made his name known abroad. One of the settlements of the Borsod coal deposit was named after him.
