The best man was one of the indispensable people responsible for the good mood at the wedding party. In the past, a friend or relative of the family took on this honorable role. Moreover, it was not uncommon for not one, but several best men to be invited to the wedding. ; The best man's duties included asking the bride's parents for her future husband at the "bride's" house. Then he made her say goodbye to the family members (father, mother, brother, grandfather, best man). All this with old rhymes. ; At the wedding, he entertained the already hungry wedding party with a short poem before the various courses. He also played funny games with the guests and the young couple. Usually, at midnight, the bride's dance followed. Then the young couple received their gifts from the wedding party, which was also led by the best man.
