The Szarvassy family's relationship

József Sabla (“Aunt” born 1914), born in Karva, was a gardener at the Szarvassy Castle. Based on the recollections of his daughter, Irén Psenákné Sabla (born 1937), we know that his only task was to keep the castle park in order. The path to the park was built with sifted stones. There was a fountain, for which the female figure was made by Lili Kuzmik (Szarvassy Imre’s niece) and her husband, a sculptor of Dutch origin. ; The castle was used by the family as a summer residence. It is likely that the Illés relatives often visited Karva. During the period of confiscation of property, the furnishings of the castle were carried away and stolen. József Sabla (“Aunt”) saved the photo album found in the garbage dump from decay. However, we cannot identify the people in the pictures.
