The Bratislava Pile Watermill

Other - other

The mill was built by Boldizsár Renczés in the last quarter of the 19th century. The mill house burned down in the 1920s, after which it was purchased by the manor forester István Nagy, who established a water sawmill in 1931 and converted the mill into a sawmill. He made maximum use of the power of the water - with appropriate technical equipment, he developed electricity with the mill, and with this he accelerated sawing. He even supplied electricity to the village's public buildings for lighting. After the death of the owner, the mill was renovated in 1942–73 and came under the care of the Csallóközi Museum in Dunaszerdahely. ; The mill was last renovated in 1999, and is currently owned by the West Slovakian Power Plant. Today it cannot be visited, only its surroundings can be viewed.
