The herbalist

József Sillik (herbalist) ; In search of local values, I visited József Sillik, the village herbalist, who has been dealing with the healing power of nature for almost 30 years. Uncle Józsi told me that for him it all started when he became disabled and was paralyzed for 25 years after his compulsory military service. Since he had been in the forest since he was a child and knew a little about plants, he decided to try to cure himself, which he succeeded in doing, only with the help of herbs, because he had a herbalist's book, which helped him find out what plants he needed, and that's how he got involved in the profession, which he has been doing since the 90s. According to him, there are a lot of herbs in Farkasd, because he uses 70 types of herbs, and 25 of them can be found in Farkasd, such as: plantain, small burdock, goldenrod, hawthorn, St. John's wort, marigold, etc. In addition, what can be sown or planted can be found in Uncle Józsi's garden. Interestingly, according to Uncle Józsi, when he went to the neighboring settlements, he did not find any medicinal herbs there, only in Farkasd. Uncle Józsi produced all of his products himself and tested them over a certain period of time. By now, patients are coming from many parts of the world, such as Russia, Israel, Spain, Austria and Germany, which he has records of in his own chronicle book. ; We hope that Uncle Józsi will be able to help patients in need for a long time and pass on his extensive knowledge to his followers.
