Vága, March 14, 1939; On November 2, 1938, the valiant Béla Imrédy himself (the 31st Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Hungary) announced on Kossuth Radio the names of the towns that had returned to the motherland. At that time, the village of Vága still remained in Czechoslovakia, because the state border had been drawn above Galánta. A delegation from the village sent to Miklós Horthy, and they petitioned the governor for the re-annexation of the village to Hungary. This became a reality on a Tuesday in March. ; The retreating Czechoslovak delegation handed over Vága to the commander of the invading Hungarian army, Army Captain Rezső Tornyi, at 12 noon on March 14, 1939. The financial guard station in the village was moved to Gány, while the gendarmerie station was moved to Alsószerdahely. ; The First Slovak Republic was a puppet state created by Hitler's Germany that existed from March 14, 1939, to 1945.
