Lajos Jókai was born in Komárom in 1819, his wife was Eszter Szabó. He continued his studies in Neszmély, Komárom, and then in Pápa. From 1847 he became an assistant pastor in Nagyszecse, then a full pastor in 1850. From 1857 to 1902 he served in Kisölvet.
