Jewish synagogue – Talmud Torah

Building, structure

In today's Bacsák Street, in the former Talmud Torah building, we find the prayer house of the Jewish community of Dunaszerdahely. ; The Talmud Torah building itself – that is, the Jewish Talmud school, which the religious community established to cultivate Jewish sciences and Jewish morals – was inaugurated on March 24, 1912, when the then Chief Rabbi, Weinberger Shmuel L., and Rabbi Jakab Fleischmann, one of the founders of the Talmud Torah and his teacher for twenty years at the time, handed over the school to its “holy purpose”: education. The land for the educational institution, built according to the plans of Fülöp Wilheim (which was located opposite the older school), was donated by the Dukes and Herzog company.
