Born on January 29, 1948 in Ipolypásztó, died on December 26, 2005 in Somorjá. Literary critic, essayist and publicist, sociographer, editor, translator, literary, cultural and library organizer. He graduated from Ipolyság, obtained a Hungarian-English teaching certificate in Bratislava in 1972, then worked as a newspaper and book publisher editor, then as a university professor and head of department in Bratislava. He lived in Somorjá. One of the outstanding creators and organizers of Hungarian literature and culture in (Czechoslovakia) after World War II. His criticisms, literary studies, his two-volume literary sociography about his native village (Mindenekről szémű adok, 1984, Hazahív a harangszó, 1985), his study of poetic theory on metaphor (Tűnődes a trópusokon, 1981), and his anthologies of literary organization and systematization were also received with recognition by Hungarian critics. He is mainly responsible for organizing the Bibliotheca Hungarica in Somorja. The Somorja city library took his name in 2008.
