The composer and pianist's memorial plaque was placed on his house in Párkány, where he lived and worked, with the support of the Slovak Hungarian Friendship Society. Ernő Zahovay (January 23, 1913, Párkány - May 29, 1998, Párkány) began his studies in his hometown, then attended the Benedictine High School in Esztergom, later studied to be a cantor, led dance bands, won several dance songs at various competitions, and each of his works became a widely known hit. In 1959, he completed a four-year conductor training course in Bratislava. Between 1959 and 1975, he was a music specialist at the Párkány, Érsekújvár, and then Komárom cultural centers. He lived in Párkány as a pensioner. He wrote dance songs, operettas, choral works, Hungarian songs, set poems to music, and released several albums. His main work: 40 Years at the Piano (memoir, 1992).
