Water tower
Building, structure
In the middle of the former farmers' quarter, bordered by Gazda and Megyercsi Streets, as well as Kis ér sor, on the former cemetery hill, stands one of the city's characteristic buildings, the twenty-eight-meter-high water tower built in 1902. Its plans were drawn up by the royal architect Elemér Zarka in May 1901. Construction began that same year. It was handed over on August 15, 1902. "The building complex of the mechanical engineering secondary school was built at the base of the water tower between 1963 and 1972. Its new wing building was handed over to its intended purpose in September 1983.
