Grave of poet and critic Péter Vörös

Cemeteries, tombstones, graves

He graduated from high school in Érsekújvár in 1965. He has been published since 1970, and his writings have appeared in nearly twenty different magazines. He was a member of Iródia between 1983 and 1986. ; His poems were published in the anthology Our Wanderings Reach the Earth (1989), Anthology of Sin and Evil Poems (1993) and Iródia (1994). His first independent volume is a selection from the work of twenty years, and the influence of the neo-avant-garde is felt in his poems. In his prose, the genres of narrative, essay and diary are mixed, and his stories question the meaning of existence. His last volume, which contains 101 haiku, is built on contrasts, contrasting existence and non-existence. In his criticisms and reviews, he mostly followed the careers of artists connected to Érsekújvár and its surroundings. We could meet his literary criticism activities – among others – in the columns of Új Szó and Szabad Újság. ; The poet's sister's husband, István Söreg, rests in the same grave as the poet.
