Their iron-clad pots
Song
On St. Luke's Day, such small children, still so school-age, used to go to school. Then they recited the poem: ; ; May their pots be of iron, ; May their plates be of tin, ; May their spoons be of lead, ; May their horses be of foal, ; May their cows be of fat, ; May their women be of sons. ; ; Some people laid their heads on the ground, saying: "This is how their hens should lie!" ; Some then received a few crowns, and the children were happy about it. Some went from house to house.
