Iron bell tower on Margitmajor
Building, structure
In the center of the Štúrová settlement, an iron-framed belfry can be seen, erected in the 1930s. The bell was taken in by the Štúrová Lutherans in 1933. ; In 1922, a Slovak colony was established in the Öregrét vineyard - on the former Fejérváry, Malcolmes and Singer estates, as well as on part of the Nagylél Rt. estates - under the name Štúrová (in the area of Ekel and Megyercs). 39 settlers arrived on the 730.3-hectare area, of which 18 were Slovaks and 19 were Moravians. The settlers came partly from Northern Slovakia (Csaca, Hibbe), partly from the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes. In 1929, a jubilee school began operating here, and in 1930 the settlement had 186 residents, most of whom emigrated in 1938.
