Urban parish
Building, structure
According to written sources, the city parish stood on the site of today's parish church as early as 1248. However, this only occupied about 1/4 of the plot of the present-day, large building. It was destroyed in the city fire of 1556. Although it was partially restored, it was not needed in the city that had become Protestant: from 1587 it had been a grain warehouse. It was repaired in 1857, but was finally demolished in 1901. At that time, between 1901 and 1902, the current three-storey, street-fronted, Art Nouveau-eclectic building was built. The symmetrical main facade is covered with rich plaster decorations.
