Cemeteries, tombstones, graves
From the life of Lázár Vághy: ; He completed his theology studies, including his last practical year, in Bratislava in 1791. He served as a chaplain in Nemes-Oroszi (today's Nemesoroszi), and then from 1792 in Nagy-Salló (today's Nagysalló). On August 6, 1794, he was appointed parish priest in Felső-Sipék (today's Sipék). On June 18, 1800, he was transferred to Ímely, and from August 3, 1806, to Vágszerdahely (today's Alsószerdahely). In 1825, he was the deputy of the county archdeacon in the Alsó-Szenc district, and also a judge of the noble ecclesiastical sees of Verebély and Szentgyörgy. In 1831, he was appointed cantor and canon in the newly built Nagyszombat social chapter. In 1838 he resigned from his parish salary and returned to Vága, where he died on April 16, 1843, at the age of 78. ; ; The first church in the village was probably built at the end of the 16th century or the first half of the 17th century. Until then, the people of Vága attended the church in Vágszerdahely. We have no precise information about the construction of the Vága church, so we only know that it did not exist when the church was visited in 1562, but it was probably built before 1642, since one of the bells of the later church, which may have come from the first church, dates from 1642. The church of Vága was first mentioned in the church visitation record in 1694. ; Vága was a daughter church of Vágszerdahely from the beginning. The political events of 1938 greatly contributed to the independence of the branch church. On March 14, 1939, the state border was drawn between the two villages, when Vága again belonged to Hungary, and Alsószerdahely (officially Vágszerdahely until 1899) to the Slovakia that was formed on that day, so the Vága daughter church was left without a parish. At that time, the village was temporarily under the care of the parish priest of Nemeskajal. The large number of Vága believers and the great distance from the Nemeskajal parish prompted the residents to organize themselves into an independent parish. From January 1, 1943 - with the approval of the Archbishop of Esztergom - the Vága filial (daughter church) community was elevated to a mother church. ; On the 18-19. 19th century parish priests of Vágszerdahely and Vága: János Megléthy (1705-1709), György Paroncsay (1709-1717), Gábor Loksay (1717-1720), György Gyöngyösy (1720-1720), Sámuel Szalay (1727-1750), Ferenc Tholt (1750 -), János Okolicsányi (1752-1764), László Gulik (1764-1775), Antal Valduczi (1775-1806), Lázár Vághy (1806-1838), István Bublik (1838-1846), János Lehocky (1846-1851), Ferenc Zatkovics (1851-1886), János Weinperger (1920-1927).
