The 1970s are a special chapter in the history of the Csicsói Volunteer Fire Department. At that time, the fire department was built in the village, which gave a new home to the firefighters and their equipment. The cramped, often temporary solutions until then were replaced by a modern, spacious building, which served the safety of the village and the professionalism of the volunteers.
The walls of the department store housed syringes, hand and motor pumps, and protective equipment that met the requirements of the time. From there, they went on a mission when the alarm bell rang. On more than one occasion, they stood up for the residents of the village and the surrounding area when fire, flood or other natural disaster threatened homes and lands.
But the department store was not only filled with life in times of danger. Volunteer firefighters often gathered here to discuss, hold exercises, or prepare for community events. The firehouse was thus not only a place of protection, but also a valued scene of the village's community life.
During this era, the fire department's service set an example: the selfless sacrifice of local men for the community remained an eternal symbol of Cicsó's togetherness and solidarity.
