Turul Monument

The Turul monument in the cemetery was also completed in 1924 in honor of those who fell in World War I. Later, it was supplemented with the names of the heroic dead of World War II. The original bird was stolen in 1999, and a new one by sculptor Lajos Nagy was placed in its place. ; (There are at least 195 Turul statues in 183 settlements in Hungary. There are 8 in Slovakia, 5 in Ukraine, 32 in Transylvania, 16 in Partium, and at least 7 in Délvidék. There is also 1 Turul statue in Burgenland, Austria.)
