Tomasík-Rados' Lourdes Grotto
Sacral small monument
The Tomasík-Rados Lourdes grotto stands on the left side of the road leading to Bátorfalu, in the small garden of a house built on a hill (no. 109), surrounded by roses. The widow Ilona Lászlóné Rados Buris lives in the house today. Her only son became a priest, and is a parish priest in Nézsán, Hungary. The small sacred monument was erected by the Rados' grandmother, Ilona Jánosné Tomasík Nemcsok, out of gratitude, around the 1960s. The grotto was built on a high stone foundation. Its cabinet is similar to that of many other grottos in Nénye. The brown iron frame is glazed on three sides, with an opening door at the front. Its top is a semicircular zinc lid. The plaster statue of the Virgin of Lourdes is also similar to the previous ones. In front of it we can see Bernadette kneeling.
