Cemetery chapel
Building, structure
The chapel was built by Ede Rogrün and his wife Ottilia Werle in 1908, based on the plans of Ferenc Kósik, a master architect from Esztergom. ; Ede Rogrün should be mentioned in connection with the development of Párkány at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The man who worked as a pharmacist established the city's first post office, and he was the midwife at the birth of the Párkány Savings Bank. For a long time, he was the honorary president of the Párkány Volunteer Fire Department. The remains of this versatile and active public figure rest in the crypt of the chapel of the old cemetery in Párkány. ; The chapel was hit during the air raids of December 1944, so it had to be rebuilt after World War II. ; On the side of the chapel stands the iron grave cross of Lajos Szalma and a heart-shaped tombstone made of red marble from Gerecse - the oldest tombstone in the cemetery, the tombstone of Isztvany Totth, who died in 1828.
