Cemetery fountain

Statue, monument, memorial plaque

The headstones and ornamental fountain in front of the World War II memorial in the cemetery were made by craftsmen from Cicsó and were handed over in 2002. The headstone was unknown in this area. The ornamental fountain was built over the original gémes well, leaving the well branch with the well gémes, and on its beautifully carved frame there are 4 iron plate phoenix birds, holding the philosopher's stone in their beaks. These mythological birds, similar to herons, symbolize the constantly renewing life. The inscription on the frame: ; "2002 WOOD DONATED BY PÁL FEHÉRVÁRY CARVED AND DESIGNED BY GÉZA NAGY. ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED BY ANTAL ÁBRAHÁM, CSABA CSÉMI, ZOLTÁN NAGY, FERDINÁND KISS, MIKLÓS TARCSI AND THE MAYOR'S OFFICE".

The monument itself is a worthy place for history, for the heroic dead. The pedestal of the statue shows the names of the local people who fell in the First and Second World Wars. The works of art are surrounded by a wrought iron fence that protects them from the elements, and was made with donations from local residents. Next to the fence, behind the ornamental fountain, there is a small park where visitors can find peace and remember their loved ones. The trees and flowers planted in the park bring the silence and peace of nature closer to the heart of the city.

Next to the cemetery, there is another creation of the Cicsó masters, the local church, which was also built in 2002, harmonizing with the works of art in the cemetery. The interior of the church also praises the work of local craftsmen, as they made the carved altar, the pulpit and the benches. Together, the church and the cemetery form the spiritual and spiritual center of the local community, where, in addition to remembrance, faith and hope also find a place.
