God gave wine to cheer the heart

1. God gave wine to make the heart glad, ; As holy David said in the psalm. ; Therefore our master drilled the barrel, ; He had a jug full of wine brought here. ; ; 2. Now, gentlemen, let them drink from the wine, ; Let them rejoice in the wedding feast. ; Let them greet the jug, let them not fall asleep, ; Let them give the bridegroom a little wine. ; ; 3. Therefore let them rejoice with shouts of joy, ; Let the bridegroom live with his beautiful wife. ; Let the whole household rejoice with joy, ; Let each one rejoice with his partner.
